Art inspired by Nile travel
Maha Gamil is a young Egyptian artist whose paintings are appearing in many places around Egypt, including in the suites of our dahabiya “Safiya”.
Silsila Temple Trip
Maha and her husband joined us on tour in 2024 with our sister company Dahabiya Nile Sailing. What you see in these paintings is how vibrant life is along this part of the Nile, between Luxor and Aswan.
We visit ancient sites that the large cruise boats cannot stop for – including El Silsila, pictured above – and also visit communities to give our guests insights to local cultures and ways of living including fishing and farming.
We spend time in local homes and meet families, so you gain a deeper understanding of Egypt now, not only the Egypt of the past.

Maha is an artist whose work is definitely worth following, especially if you are interested in a fresh perspective on Egyptian life, with new paintings appearing in some interesting locations from Aswan to Cairo.
